Open Space
The Marathe team will continue to work with FOWWOS and landowners to add to West Windsor’s open space. West Windsor is currently over 50% open space, and our Master Plan(Open Space and Recreation Plan) calls for additional open space and a Green Belt of preserved property around West Windsor.

We have passed innovative laws that will create large pockets of open space within developments, like our Cluster ordinance (Township of West Windsor, NJ Use and Bulk Regulations for Residence Districts) passed in 2022. This law requires smaller individual lots in exchange for larger areas of environmentally sensitive open space. This is just one example of our forward thinking that will protect our town now and in the future.
Recreation
Protecting our open spaces and expanding recreational opportunities are top priorities for West Windsor. We are committed to maintaining our beautiful trails for hiking and biking, and we're always looking for new ways for residents to stay active. From new courts for pickleball and cricket to well-maintained facilities for Summer swimming, tennis and team sports, we are dedicated to providing a wide range of options for everyone in our community.
Just a few of the improvements currently planned for Duck Pond Park include bathrooms, an inclusive playground, and multiuse tennis/pickleball courts.
