We will continue to:

• Work on Sustainable Jersey initiatives to maintain our Silver Certification.  This level rewards our many environmental projects, activities and ordinances over a multi-year period. 

• Preserve Open Space and Farmland, and seek to preserve environmentally sensitive areas in our West Windsor Green Belt.
• Update and expand our unique Green_Development_Checklist, which is required to be filled out by developers for project approvals.
• Expand our Green Ecoscape Demonstration Area in Community Park and tie it into rain gardens and environmental areas elsewhere on township property to provide educational opportunities to residents and businesses to learn about green infrastructure, gardening and alternative environmental landscaping and storm water control.
• Encourage adoption of clean energy transportation by continuing to work to expand available EV charging locations, add additional electric vehicles to the West Windsor Township fleet, hosting West Windsor’s National Drive Electric Month (now in its 8th year) and working with the County on their EV Readiness Committee and the Central Jersey Transportation Forum.
• As the first community in NJ to get SolSmart silver certification, we will continue to encourage solar power and solar ready on new development, work on improved solar permitting processes, and to encourage Community Solar for appropriate new structures. 
• Update municipal buildings and properties with new energy efficiency and other green infrastructure.
• Maintain our Tree City USA certification and our League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly Community certifications.
• Provide educational programs for residents to manage waste sustainably, including recycling and composting education.
• Carry out our Complete and Green Streets policy in order to promote safe walking and biking while utilizing green infrastructure such as pervious multiuse paths.
