Joe Charles is a CPA with 29 years of practical business experience in the world of accounting and finance, where he leads teams of people on a daily basis. He has served on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations, and has volunteered as a coach/assistant coach for local youth sports.

 

As the Vice-Chair of Keep West Windsor NonPartisan (“Vote No”), he passionately and successfully advocated for keeping partisan politics out of West Windsor.

 

Joe and his wife are 17-year residents, with 2 children currently in the WWP school system.

 

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania
  • 29-year (and counting) professional career as successful business person, trusted advisor, team leader, and inclusive mentor
  • Vice-Chair of Keep West Windsor NonPartisan to successfully defend our form of nonpartisan elections for the “Vote NO” team
  • 9 years on Lehigh University Accounting Advisory Board, 2 years as Chair
  • Served as volunteer board member for charities, Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia, and Young Audiences of Eastern Pennsylvania
  • Volunteered as coach/assistant coach for WWPSA (rec soccer) and WWLL (little league baseball)
  • Co-hosted West Windsor Little League outdoor charity grill for 2 years
  • Regular guest lecturer at Lehigh University for 15 years; keynote speaker for 2025 accounting banquet for students and faculty
  • Teams with amazing spouse to foster 15 rescue dogs in last 7 years; 2 we have adopted and 4 that are with other West Windsor families
  • WW resident for 17 years; married 20 years; 2 children currently in WW-P schools
  • B.S. in Business and Economics, Major in Accounting, Lehigh University

 

Joe Charles played a leading role in the successful “Vote No” campaign that decisively defeated the public question to make our township elections partisan, safeguarding West Windsor's nonpartisan traditions by a remarkable 2:1 margin. During his 17 years as an active West Windsor resident, he has volunteered in everything from sports and education to fostering rescue dogs.

 

His financial acumen and commitment to local community-driven governance will make him a great addition to our Township Council.
